Reasons to visit Curitiba

Saturday, Jan. 30th 2010When asked about Brazil, people from another countries usually refer to Rio de Janeiro, samba, carnaval, and…violence.
In fact, this wonderful country has many huge problems concerning to violence, but there are lots of good reasons to visit Brazil. First of all, it’s the biggest country in south america, and it means there are great cities, safer and cleaner, to see.
Like Curitiba. This amazing city is the capital of the state of Paraná, one of the three in the south of Brazil. It has around 1,500,000 people living there. That region was colonized by germans, italians, japaneses and other ethinical groups, and nowadays you still can see the effects of this cultural mix, at the museuns, like Oscar Niemeyer’s, and the gardens, like the botanical. Curitibanians have more years in school than your brazilian friends in northern region, and probably you will find many of them speaking to you in english…
Or maybe in german, spanish or even japanese… come on, you will make the cheapest travel of your life, so what are you waiting for?
